Jordan Mosby '18

Mr. Mosby studied Sociology and hails from Largo, MD, where he attended Bishop McNamara High School.

Morehouse has served as the epicenter of my growth. I remember entering Morehouse at 17 with naive ideas about college and who I wanted to be. Now as a graduating senior,  I have a much clearer vision of where God (and I ) see myself headed in terms of a career path and the impact I want to have on my community. Morehouse has been like a bowl adding ingredients to me since I started in 2015. The space has taken me on so many journeys to discovering who I am. It introduced me to who I was as a human, a man, a Black man and so forth. Morehouse has given me lifelong friends, a redefined sense of morality, an ethical code upon which to make decisions, spiritual guidance, and a strong academic background that’s prepared me to enter almost any space with confidence. I cannot stress the value that learning with a liberal arts lens has had on me. Morehouse has made me well rounded and exposed me to ideas of diversity amongst Blacks I never knew existed. Though I’m no expert in any field and am learning about myself daily, Morehouse has taught me how to evaluate knowledge in a holistic manner and how to go about discovering who I am. I’ll be forever grateful to this institution for setting me on the path of this lifelong journey.

I am really into film and will be traveling to Paris, France with Clark Atlanta University to study the erasure of Black Film in France in the Spring of 2019. I have dreams of writing a film one day.
