Kevin Bryson '21

Mr. Bryson studies Computer Science, Mathematics, and Japanese and hails from Bolingbrook, IL, where he attended Plainfield East High School.

Why did you initially choose to attend Morehouse?

For the community of inspired black people, in addition to the amazing scholarship opportunity I received.

What has kept you at Morehouse?

My scholarship and the faith I have in my abilities to succeed anywhere I am.

Why did you choose to study Computer Science, Mathematics, and Japanese?

I love computers and I knew I wanted to study either Computer Science or Engineering then I heard all about Morehouse having great connections with companies like Google as well as numerous students being able to secure internships and full time offers at these companies.

Outside of your Computer Science, Mathematics, and Japanese, what have you spent time learning about?

I’ve spent time learning about many of the sociological struggles black people have through conversations with various people in addition to learning more about my own identity.

Share a little bit more about your most interesting/the achievement you are most proud of.

I’m most proud that I know I haven’t done my best yet, and that I will continue to work at my high aspirations. However, I am proud of myself for tutoring people and seeing them succeed in that class.
